I purchased my VPS. What do I do now?
After you purchase a Generation 4 VPS or Dedicated Server, it’s time to complete your setup with its server name and other administrative info. See Set up my Gen 4 server for more information.
I want to just start over, how do I rebuild my Gen4 VPS?
If you want to revert to a clean setup on your Generation 4 VPS or Dedicated Server, you can rebuild it (also called reprovisioning), which returns it to the state of a newly purchased server.
- Log in to your YOUR POWER HOST account. (Need help logging in?)
- In your My Products page, click Servers.
- Next to the Generation 4 server you want to rebuild, click Manage.
- In the upper-right corner of the page, click Server Actions and then select Rebuild Server.
- Follow the prompts in the Rebuild your server page, and then continue with Set up my Gen 4 server.

How do I restart my Gen 4 VPS?
If you can’t reboot your Generation 4 VPS manually, you can restart it from your hosting account as follows.
Note: If you’re trying to restart a Generation 4 Dedicated Server, the steps are a little different.
- Log in to your YOUR POWER HOST account.
- In your My Products page, click Servers, and next to the Generation 4 VPS you want to restart, click Manage.
- In the upper-right corner of the page click Server Actions and then select Restart Server.
I've been locked out of my VPS server, what can I do?
Use the Recovery Console to regain access to your Generation 4 VPS if you’ve been inadvertently locked out by a new firewall or iptables rule. You need to know your server username and password to connect to your server via SSH or Remote Desktop (RDC).
- If you’ve got a Generation 4 Dedicated Server, the Recovery Console steps are different.
- Log in to your YOUR POWER HOST account. (Need help logging in?)
- In your My Products page, click Servers, and next to the Generation 4 VPS you want to use, click Manage.
- In the top left corner of the account Dashboard, select Recovery Console.
- Press Enter. You can now log into your server to make changes.

How do I log in to my Gen4 VPS with Plesk?
You can log directly into Plesk using the username and password for your Generation 4 Windows VPS. This is a secure way to give others access to the server without giving them your YOUR POWER HOST account password. You don’t have to have admin access enabled to log in this way.
Note: Plesk on Windows is not supported for Generation 4 Dedicated Servers.
- Open a web browser with this URL: https://[your server IP address]:8443.
- Enter admin as your Username.
- Enter your hosting account Password and then click Log in.
